I Have Become A Soccer Mom.

HELLO AMAZING FRIENDS AND FAMILY!!! Again, so sorry for the mess up with last week’s weekly email, but regardless I am so ecstatic to update you all again, but first the good word! Last P-day I had the amazing opportunity to hike the tallest peak in all of South Dakota, an abandoned fire watch station on Black Elk Mountain (about 14 mins from Mt. Rushmore). Let me tell it was one of the prettiest hikes I have ever been on and the company of half the Zone made it even more fun. While hiking in the magical black hills I felt an affirmation that there really is a supreme creator. A creator so loving and detailed oriented that He hand crafted each needle of a pine tree, each glittery peace of rock, and of course life in of itself. We learn from The Book of Mormon (specifically Alma 30:44) that "all things denote that there is a God; yea even the earth and all the things upon the face of it". We also learn from the Doctrine and Covenants that "all things which come of the earth are made for the benefit  of men... and to gladden the heart and enliveth the soul". It’s no surprise to me why we feel lighter and renewed after being in nature, or why it's so important for our mental health to be outside, because when we are out enjoying nature we feel the love of God and come to better appreciate the blessing of life. So, my invitation to you all is to take some time this week (it doesn't matter how much) but go outside and relish in the beauty of nature that our Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ have created for you. Ponder the wonder of life and the joy of the Saviors restores gospel. I can promise you that as you do so you will not only have an amazing experience, but also come to greater appreciate your Heavenly Father.

Okay so about becoming a soccer Mom. We as a companionship have been offered the amazing opportunity to be able to serve as Mt Rushmore missionaries, meaning I operate a Church booth and talk to random people about their heritage and interest in hearing an uplifting message of Jesus Christ directly on Mt Rushmore. Because of this I now get to wear a fanny pack full of pamphlets and pass along cards, drink my entire body wait in water from a hot pink water bottle with reusable straw, and proudly drive the Rushmore minivan with Come unto Christ stamped onto the back windshield. So yah, needless to say I am living the lush life right now, and loving every second of it. My nickname of soccer Mom Mama McMullin (or triple M as my homies call me) came from the fact that I have to drive all of the Rushmore Elders and Sisters around and cook food for everyone once we all get back, before having to then drop off everyone back to their apartments before curfew. Definitely a weird point in my mission, but a fantastic point, nevertheless.

FRIEND UPDATE!!!!! Literally I have met some of the coolest people in the world this week and seen some really amazing miracles. Feather and Skeets are a super cute Native American couple with three cute kids who love the gospel and the missionaries but can't attend Church very often because of work. Feather said she was sick and tired of not fully being a follower of Jesus or a member of any Church and quit her job out of the blue so she could attend Church. We were so shocked and emotional when we heard this because she so boldly told us that God would provide a way.... and He did. Her boyfriend was able to receive a promotion letting him have Sundays off and a pay increase to compensate for Feather becoming a stay at home Mom. I love them both SO much and are such good examples to me of people that are willing to sacrifice almost anything to follow God and Jesus Christ. I was also able to meet a super cool guy over Facebook who insisted that I come and visit him on the reservation so I can see his mustang and share my message about Jesus Christ and his ancestors the Laminates. All in all, my dear friends’ miracles have not ceased especially in mission field :)

I am so so so grateful to be a missionary out here in fabulous Rapid City and to be able to teach the joy of the restored gospel. Love and miss you all so much!!!!
